Later you need to place the fuel and the iron ore inside a furnace that will provide you with the iron ingots as shown below. The last item that is needed to make the iron ingots is any fuel source that you can collect, for example some pieces of coal or wooden logs. Now you need a furnace which will be responsible for making the iron ingots that you can make by using 8 cobblestones. The next step is to find some blocks of iron ore that are also available in every other biome inside caves, cliffs, and mountains and then mine using a stone pickaxe that will give you blocks of iron ore. Now place these 2 items in the exact same order as shown below on the crafting table to make a stone pickaxe. The second item that you need are 2 pieces of wooden sticks and placing 2 wooden planks on the crafting will give you 4 of these. These blocks can normally be found in every other biome specifically in caves, cliffs, mountains and by digging underground. We are going to use a stone pickaxe for simplicity and for that you need 3 blocks of cobblestones. The first thing that you need to make the iron ingots is to find and collect some pieces of iron by mining either with at least a stone or any other of higher level pickaxe. You need 5 iron ingots and 1 chest on the crafting table to make a hopper: You can connect this device with a chest so that whatever comes inside it can be transferred directly to it. It has two sides one is the input that is its top side and other is its bottom that can be used as an output. Hopper is one of the most essential blocks in Minecraft that can be used to create automated farms.
